A Dream Come True

A Dream Come True

When I was a kid, I've always dreamt of going to Japan. I never expected it to come true until the year 2017. It was a great opportunity and an awesome experience for me to get a chance to work in one of the World's Largest economies, Japan.

Arriving at Narita Airport was already mind-blowing. My co-worker/friend and I were looking at each other with a big smile on our faces. We couldn't believe that we're in the land of the rising sun.  Although everything was new and even with the language barrier, we were able to ride our first bus to our apartment in Roppongi, Tokyo with the help of the locals and the English signs at the airport. We couldn't take our eyes off the outstanding, eye-capturing, breathtaking sceneries. In our eyes, everything was just incredible.

We went to a lot of popular places like AKIBA (Akihabara), Shibuya, and Yokohoma. All of our trips were satisfactory. Living in Japan was one of the best days of my life. I couldn't ask for more.

The best part of Japan is the food. Our apartment is in the center of Roppongi and there were lots of ramen houses around the area. We were able to eat almost all types of Ramen and they were all good. My favorite Ramen is the Kyushu Jungara Ramen. The thick broth, and the perfectly cooked noodles, matched with the delicious flavored semi-boiled egg was just superb. It was the best in Japan! Despite the cultural difference, it wasn't that hard to get used to it. I may have not been the best adopter of the culture, but I did pretty well.

Even now, I still couldn't believe that I used to live in the place I'd dreamt of going to when I was a kid. Even now, I am still dreaming of going back. I will forever treasure the memories and friendships I've acquired when I was living there. Dreams do come true, so keep dreaming.
